… or the best way to get back the iPad the children monopolize:
Et oui!
Sweet homes is now available in the best bookstores of Geneva andย someย issues are also deliverable via our e-boutique !
The 3 Bookstores in charge in town:
– Library of the Museum of Art and History of Geneva
– Library of Art and Architecture – Place de Ile
– Library Fahrenheit 451 – Rue Voltaire (What a name! What a street!)
Each edition is significantly different according the spray paint technique I have used to make the covers that glow in the dark by parts. I also numbered, signed each one and stamped “coloring pages for real kids”ย but I can’t leave you like that.

Sweet homes is definitively a coloring book related to 40 Architectural references.ย The selection of the houses was made following 3 principal rules:
1.ย The house must beย conceptually revolutionary and in dialogue with its environment and its inhabitants.
2. The houses must date after the 4th of November 1879 ( day Thomas Edison filed for a U.S. patent for the incandescent light bulb ).
3. The architects in charge of the construction must have being able to keep the lotus position more that 10 sec. following the precepts of Hata Yoga… hum! Let’s dive into seriousness:
Sweet homes is the fruit of a reflexion not only about architectural movements and proposals of how we should or would live following ideas linked to structural boldness and the evolution of materials , the reading we can have on our civilisation or the will to share a creative heritage in the more entertaining way with the architects of tomorrow (some will say real estate brokers) but also in reaction to today’s world and what we can do from home:
Sweet homes it’s an home made project printed on a home printer about homes!
1. PUBLISHING TODAY
It’s finally possible to print without feeling guilty thanks to organisationsย like FSC that I support. During the last decade it was common to feel sick when the page were going out of the ink-jet device but nowadays if we want to save the planet we have to print much more. SO PRINT ON FSC PAPER!
2.COLORING BOOKS
We certainly developed aย real affection to Disney Inc. when coloring Mickeys ( I’ve got nothing against this mouse that even my can can’t even recognize as a mouse) and what aboutย the backpack of Dora the explorer? But don’t we have a cultural world wide problem, arn’t french philosophers talking about it non-stop on after midnight TV shows?
The beta editions of Sweet homes were spread aroundย as professionally speaking: Consumer tests. Can you imagine my smile when 10 years old girls started a discussion about Le Corbusier or comparing Rem Koolhass and organic houses? Try that and feel much more better!
3.SWEET HOMES
Home is where the heart is, right? Real kids is what we are. The ones who use spray paint aren’t the people who demand freedom? Something that glows-in-the-dark isn’t hope? Didn’t all the architects selected crossed the paterns and lines of their time ?
This publication is a door made with love to a world that we wish colorful.
:::
PS. It was very difficult to select houses designed by women during this process and this is certainly the weakness point of this edition following the working relations during the area covered. To let the flag of feminism float over our homesย forever, I invite you to wait few weeks… we are working on a “zero men around” coloring book ! MWAAA AHA HA !
Sincerely yours.
J.
